"Heaven on Earth" is the fifth of the six albums Larry Young recorded for Blue Note in the 1960's.  He packed a lot of musical experience into his short life - he died in New York in 1978 at the age of 38.  Following on from a Prestige period he was heavily influenced by John Coltrane, played with Hank Mobley and Stanley Turrentine amongst others.  Latterly, he recorded with Miles Davis on the Bitches Brew sessions, and is also known to rock fans for a jam he recorded with Jimi Hendrix, which was released after Hendrix's death on the album Nine to the Universe.
