RECORD COLLECTOR APRIL 2015 REVIEW.
In February 2014 I bought a small record collection, containing two 7" acetates, containing mid-1960s recordings, from an ex Sounds writer. One acetate by Spell, the other by John Williams. We put a track from each on Youtube and got excellent response to both Many offers to buy the acetates but I declined and decided to release them on TOR Records. Spell originated from the Bedford area in the UK. They comprised Chris Bagnall - Vocals, Mick Rimmer - Bass and Dave King on Guitar. There were several drummers, the one on this session was Irish and his name is unknown. Dave King is the only surviving member of the band and has a great band called Mojo who play on the east coast of England. SPELL played a lot of gigs on the club scene and had one recording session from which came this acetate. The tracks have been remastered in Austria.
Check out the John Williams release as well. TOR 007
